1. First of, we need to understand how knowledgeable these students are about being labeled democrats, republicans, independents. For example, being an independent need not mean that they don't attach to either parties, especially when there are only two primary parties.

2. How about an issue or debate that has multiple possibilities and views rather than black and white answers?

3. Timing of such surveys. For example, right now, many "democrats" especially students with many getting involved in the election for the first time, are deeply affected not seeing their leader at the helm, and might answer the survey coming out of this experience.

4. For that reason, we need to dig deeper before we draw conclusions with such surveys.
