Beware & Be Aware: AI MISINTERPRETATION OF DATA

AI & MISINTERPRETATION OF DATA

With AI use becoming common across every industry, we need to be careful on the extent of usage, and its impact to human lives. There have been instances, as cited through articles and videos, of human lives getting impacted due to AI reliance, and even misuse. Just to give an example, here is a simple writings without any dependence on any machine or AI, and this work was categorized as 30% & 35% AI generated with and without the first paragraph.

Though the percentage estimated is not supporting a complete dependence on AI, it does bring up the point that AI estimations does go wrong. As of now, many decisions include a human element, and if the involved human forces are incompetent or negligent or corrupt (or, even worse, if all three), this kind of error in judgement and over-reliance on AI can result in a chaotic environment, which I guess, is already happening, and that is what is presented in the above picture.

 LOUIS PASTEUR

Without first paragraph:

Though in this story, Louis Pasteur did not face violent opposition, sometimes, even a ridicule mixed with subtle opposition can be equally depressing and harmful as violent opposition. In these instances, many times, we can't even sense where the opposition is coming from, and what the real underlying reason happens to be.

Note: When polymaths and original deep thinkers garner wisdom, these individuals start seeing the universal truths in worldly happenings. Though we might think that they are copying the adage or thoughts of other thinkers of the past, many times, it is coming from their own experiences as much as what they might have seen or heard from the past. For that matter, experiential learning on top of educational learning would give us the ability to decipher the true worldly happenings. Otherwise, those quotes or words might not mean much as we would not be able to understand the depth of those words/quotes/adage.

AI Estimation

Could your text be flagged as AI-generated?

35% mixed / uncertain

  •     Passage shows moderate redundancy and repetition (e.g., repeated 'many times', similar phrases about experience vs. past).
  •     Phrasing is generic and moralizing, lacking concrete detail or specific examples, which is a common AI trait.
  •     Several slightly non-idiomatic or awkward constructions ('what the real underlying reason happens to be', 'on top of educational learning').
  •     Overall coherence and conventional grammar are intact, suggesting human-like organization rather than strongly synthetic output.

With first paragraph

There is an adage which is credited to many greats of yesteryear, namely, "Everything goes through three stages — 1. Ridicule 2. Violent Opposition 3. Regarded self-evident. This adage is apt for this real story of Louis Pasteur as well.

  •     Repeated phrases, redundancy, and moralizing generalities give a slightly generic, essay-like feel consistent with automated summarization.
  •     Awkward phrasing and minor grammatical slips (e.g., 'Regarded self-evident', 'what the real underlying reason happens to be') suggest a human author or non-native writing rather than highly polished AI output.
  •     Inconsistent punctuation and clumsy sentence rhythm indicate human revision or informal composition rather than a single coherent generated voice.
  •     Specific anecdotal reference to Louis Pasteur and the reflective, experiential tone feel personal and context-driven, which leans toward human authorship.
  •     Overall coherence is reasonable but not overly formulaic or uniformly polished, so evidence for AI origin is modest rather than strong.
