We could say the same for most of the world with the difference being the timeline considering humans have been nomads during the course of human history.

When it comes to population changes around the globe, and in a country, we have to be careful with extrapolations. For example, global population estimates suggest that the global population itself was around 350 - 500 million in the year 1500, whereas the current US population is around 320 million, and the global population around 8 billion.
